The facebook event page said, Madras to Chennai – Slighta Local, Slighta Peter, Music Matter. Chennai has always been known for its appreciation of music-the Madras Music Season held every year since 1927 and known to be one of the world’s largest cultural events stands proof to that. The traditional role of the Music Season is to allow Carnatic music lovers to appreciate performances by renowned artistes and promising young artistes. Audiences and artists come from across India and the world to be part of the event. The Music festival hosted by Alliance Francaise in the Alliance Francaise Auditorium on 22nd August bowed to the music loving spirit of Chennai .This treat for music lovers in Chennai was organized by ASAP Productions along with Exodus to be part of Chennai’s 370th Birthday Celebrations . ASAP is has a well known presence in the theatre scene, with plays being staged round the year this event was their debut into the Chennai music scene. The show provided a platform for young talent. As a tribute to Chennai’s ever changing taste in music all genres of music ranging from rock to jazz to our very own local <em>koothu were show cased. Some of the best bands in the city like Junkyard Groove’, ‘Subject to Change’, ‘Blood Covenant’, ‘Peter Kaapi’, ‘Wattabottles’, ‘Osher Moosica’, ‘Synergy’, ‘TWKC’, ‘Blues Conscience’, ‘No Safe Word’, ‘Public Issue’, ‘Rusty Moe’, and ‘Liberty, Equality, Masala Tea (L.E.M.)’ were part of the show and every band played a song dedicated to Chennai This was a birthday bash unlike any we have ever seen before and one we are not likely to forget any time soon…
