After the Going Nowhere tour last, I was really looking forward to Lounge Piranha, the post rock band from Bengaluru, who were playing at Unwind Center. The evening began at 7 pm, with No Safe Word, a Chennai based band, taking the stage to perform.
The band defines its genre of music as ‘Psychobilly’ an eclectic mix of punk rock.
They played for about an hour after which the band everyone had been waiting for, Lounge Piranha took stage. This Bangalore based band began with an instrumental which was absolutely phenomenal, comprising of their trademark ambiance.
The songs they played on that night included Gun Song which is one of my favorites.
There was a change in the line-up with a new female bass guitarist replacing Rohan Ramesh, the medic who could ‘play the bass better than his medical career’, according to their website!
