Unseen Underground Ragnarok 2009 is being organized by Unseen Underground in Association with FA, Kingfisher, HMI, SS Music, Doohm & Rock and Raga at Geoffrey’s pub on 31st night. This event promises to bring you the best New Year’s party ever with some of the greatest rock musicians from the country performing live. The line-up for this event will feature bands from all the major cities from the country, all geared up to deliver 6 hours of pure rock & metal massacre. This show will feature the act of following bands.

About the bands
RAMPAZZE
Rampazze is a Hard Rock / Rock N Roll/ Classic Rock band ,which was formed by lead guitarist Abhishek Boro & bassist Joshringdao Phonglo in the fall of 2006. There were many line-up changes and several vocalists later, it settled down with Himangshu Rava on Vocals & Nayan Gogoi on drums. Rampazze mostly plays originals. Till date there have been many compositions done and all have gone down through the crowd pretty well.
Popular songs include Son of a Gun, Feel the Heat, Cheap Liquor…Wicked Hangover, Roll with me Mama, Black Leather Queen, Bleeding Blues & Lady Killer.

ATMOSFEAR
Atmosfear is 4-piece death metal band from Mumbai. Formed in 2005 by Ulhas, Bruce and Frank, they were jamming on covers for quite some time. After the inclusion of Mayank on drums & Shezan on lead guitars by the end of the year, the band gained momentum created few originals and started playing shows in Mumbai.
They made it to the finals on their very first show/competition ‘Powerchords’ – 06 at SIES College Mumbai, and also played “ESP EXPLOSION” the ESP Guitar launch gig at Razz. After that the band played couple of more shows in the local circuit and more competitions like Kayos-07 in Mumbai. At NIFT-07 Navi Mumbai, Frank was adjudged the best bassist.
In the middle of the year 2007, Ulhas started working as a tour manager, and was most of the time out of the country, the vocal duties for the band were handled by Bruce at that time. The band also got Vincent (also known as ‘The Beast’) from Prakalp on bass as Frank was busy with his other band Devoid. With Vince on bass the band played some more pub gigs and also ‘Enigma’ a competition held at Podar College. Which was also the last show where Shezan played as the lead guitarist, he left the band soon after that citing musical differences.
On 22nd Oct-07, Vince passed away cause of a severe asthma attack. It was a major blow to the band. The song “Visions of the dead” was changed by Bruce over to “Visions of the Beast” as a tribute to Vince.
Frank came back on the bass for few shows as the band was unable to find a stable bassist at the time. The band competed with the 4 piece line up again in the local circuit, and won 4 competitions in a row.
Atmosfear won SIES- Powerchords-07 in December and also ‘Spectrum’ 08 – NIFT, Navi Mumbai in Jan-08, and repeated the same at NMIMS and Saboo Siddiki College in very same month.
The band members individually also won the following at Spectrum 08 Best Vocalist (Ulhas) Best Bassist ( Frank ) [2nd time in a row at NIFT] Best Drummer (Mayank).
The winning streak came to a stop as Ulhas had to leave the country again due to his work.
The search for a permanent bassist was finally over in a couple of months, when Orry joined in the band. His first show with the band happened to be on his 20th birthday.
Due to the constant line up changes, the band never got the chance to perform outside the city of Mumbai. The band has made a mark in the local metal scene in Mumbai and are roaring for more gigs and shows across the country.
Atmosfear played their first show outside Mumbai at NLS Strawberry fields – 08, Bangalore. Although they didn’t get selected for the finals the crowd response to the band was immense. The band won the competition at RAIT Unchained – 09 at mumbai, and Mayank was adjudged the best drummer there as well.
At Sea Rock – 09 BITS, Goa, the band not only reached the finals by playing 3 piece but also got the best drummer and best bassist award. Also played at Apocalypse – 09 at BMS Institute of Technology Bangalore in April – 09 Played with a stellar line up of bands at Freak show 6 in Mumbai on 6th of June 09

PURPLE BLOOD
Purple Blood is a five piece metalcore/progressive metal band with member from different walks of life, divided in thoughts but united in music. With exams and lectures to tackle, they don’t have a road filled with bed of roses, but their belief in music and “arrears” keeps them going. 
Their major achievement was when they won the best band tag at Ragam 09, the most popular college fest in Kerala hosted by NIT, Calicut by beating 17 bands. That gave them confidence and this was followed by an Opening Act for the alternative band ‘Avial’ for Nirvaan 09.

ABANDONED AGONY
A brutal death metal band from Bangalore who believe in “what we do is what we like” ,each song seems to be even killer and more technical than the last, and that’s a trend that won’t change anytime..!!!
Abandoned Agony is one of the acts which is inspired by the ‘in your face brutality’ concept which has been established by some bands like Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation, Cryptopsy, Nile, Dying Fetus etc. They believe in delivering power packed performances of their own version of brutal death metal without giving heed to the actual expectations of the general crowd. They believe in staying true to themselves n making unadulterated music. They have recently released their demo titled ‘Infected Unborn’.

BLIND IMAGE (Chennai)
Blind Image is a Groove/Extreme/Thrash/Contemporary metal band from Chennai. They came out with their first self produced album titled “Psychobabble” on June 2008,which was launched in Unseen Underground Pub Fest-II.The band has released their second album “More than human” last week in a show at HOC. And re-launching the same album at unseen Underground Pub Fest-V on 15th November’09.

CRYPTED
Crypted is a five piece Chennai-based progressive death metal band. Which was started out as a thrash metal band in January 2009, with Arvind on vocals/bass, KJ and Avinash on guitars, and Vishnu on drums doing Slayer and Megadeth covers. However, over a period of time, they kind of… evolved. they’ve played quite a number of shows since their first (IIT – Saarang) and their influences have changed since then to heavier, more technical bands like Death, Nile, Atheist and the likes. Also, the line up was slightly altered by Arvind taking up guitars and Avinash handling bass duties. Also, have pulled Siva into the band as the vocalist, who has been a long time friend and supporter of the band.

KAASHMORA
Sachin(vocals) & Harsha (guitars), back in 2006, were playing for a grunge band and decided to part ways beacuse of their inclination to the heavier side of music. It took them almost 10 months to find Venkat, who is an amazing heavy metal drummer. Finding a good bass guitarist was proving to be very difficult and the only way out they could think of was to convince a guitarist to play the bass guitar for the band. They stumbled across Nitin, a guitarist looking to join a band. They convinced him to pick up the bass for Kaashmora. Things went well for a couple of months and they managed to play 4 Sunday Jams and one competition at NIT, Suratkal. Weeks after the competition the drummer, Venkat, quit followed by Nitin a week later. Deja vu? Yes. Sachin and Harsha had lost all hope and almost called it quits but then in oppurtune time a close friend of the band, Abhi who is the vocalist for Ston’d, introduced them to Mudit, a brilliant drummer and Siva a bass guitarist from Chennai who was in town to pursue his degree.
Before meeting up with Siva Kaashmora with Mudit had already finished 3 original compositions so it was one helluva task for Siva to pick up the track but he did justice. After a couple of jams things started falling into place and Kaashmora was back strong with a new lineup and an all original playlist.
Kaashmora has a unique outlook to music it creates due to the varied influences of the comprising members. Their music is unique with Mudit’s complex and odd drum patterns combined with Harsha’s speedmetal riffs which are arranged in a very unconventional manner, Siva’s pounding bass lines and all of this taken one step further by Sachin’s modulated and aggressive vocals.
